After lunch performance for the Ladies Friendship group, Elmswell Baptist Church, December 2025
Thanks for coming to our Nosh and Natter at Elmswell Baptist Church and presenting your Christmas programme. The mix of music was very good including the familiar and not so familiar and some that you don’t hear so frequently nowadays. The audience enjoyed the participation with some items. The quality of the playing was very professional, the combination of flute and harp is excellent.
We appreciated your very friendly approach and generosity with your time.
The selection of cards etc were also much appreciated, good quality at a realistic price.
I’m sure will be in touch with a view to you paying a return visit!
There were 27 people in the audience, ladies and gentlemen.
Evening concert at Bradfield St George Church, Saturday 28th June 2025
Angels Delight are truly just that – a delight. As to their angelic status I cannot attest, but Adriene Ellis (flute) and Anne Chorley (harp) play their instruments beautifully and, I am sure, they would be an attribute to any celestial band.
Their programme was eclectic, ranging from traditional ballads from around Britain to classical pieces and film music. Flute and harp are a winning combination particularly when playing folk music and works from the classical repertoire. A particular favourite of mine, Papageno’s song from Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’ was delivered with great panache and wit. Traditional Irish tunes such as ‘Lannigan’s Ball’ and ‘The Star of County Down’ allowed each instrument to shine.
The whole programme was delivered with warmth and humour including a rather surprising ‘Flight of a Bumble Bee’, which buzzed in and out catching us all unawares. The evening drew to a close with ‘Annie’s Song’ by John Denver requested in advance by one of the audience to celebrate a Golden Wedding, before the traditional ‘In an English Country Garden’.
The audience had had a ball and it seemed the two musicians had had a pretty good time as well. Certainly, they seemed to appreciate the ‘Angel Delight’ served at the interval. Our sincere thanks to Angels Delight for a wonderful evening and may they stay firmly earthbound and entertaining us for many years to come!
Lunchtime concert at Hive Community Hub, Sudbury, May 2025
Thank you so much for giving of your time and talents today for Hive. We greatly appreciate your generosity.
I was so pleased that the gentleman in the audience was moved to stand up and thank you for your superb music. I think he expressed the feelings of everyone there.
Adriene, that you sing so beautifully and also offer for sale your lovely cards and pictures is very much appreciated. Being able to purchase cards which cannot be found elsewhere makes them particularly special. Thank you.
You both have such an exquisite feel for the music you play and an easy rapport between you. We very much liked the theme of ‘colours’ which you chose and the variety of music which you performed – the Chinese piece did sound Chinese – how clever! Your concerts have such an expressive and ‘magical’ feel to them and the music you choose to play transports your audience to a special place.
Today, even with a comparatively small audience (18), your concert raised for Hive a total of £71.30 – thank you. I’m sure that the funeral of a well-known Sudbury citizen that day did reduce the numbers attending. I always regret attracting lower audience numbers when such a special concert is offered and do hope you were not too disappointed that the seats were not all occupied – they should have been It was such a treat for us all. Thank you both very much indeed.
Concert for the residents at The Red House Residential Home, Sudbury, November 2024
We’ve had the most wonderful morning with Angels Delight Flute & Harp what talented ladies they are. The residents absolutely loved listening to the set they had put together for us and said they can’t wait to have them back again. One resident said ‘hearing these tunes has taken me right back to my childhood’. How lovely! Looking forward to seeing them here again soon.
Lunchtime concert at Hive Community Hub, Sudbury, June 2024
Thank you both so very much for your wonderful concert yesterday. What talented ladies you are! The audience was most appreciative of your varied programme of music. It was so well balanced and so beautifully performed. The combination of the Celtic harp and flute was lovely.
A fabulous evening of Music and Dance: ANGELS DELIGHT & SUDBURY SILVER SWANS CELEBRATION on 5th DECEMBER 2023
What a fantastic evening: Angels Delight, flute and harp duo, accompanied the Silver Swans in the ballet “Dance for your Life” to the music An Artist’s Life by Johann Strauss, they also played a beautiful piece of music, Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni. The large audience comprising adults and children were captivated by the expert playing by these two talented musicians. Not only did they excel but are most charming. We were so very grateful that they honoured us with their presence.
We were particularly grateful that Angels Delight, Adriene (flute) and Anne (lever harp) recorded the Strauss piece for this ballet. It was initially used for the film which was included in the inaugural Silver Swans Celebration Day on October 1st 2023 at The Global Headquarters of The Royal Academy of Dance in London. The ballet films were streamed worldwide to Silver Swans teachers and their dancers as far away as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, America to name a few countries as well as all over Europe. There were over 240 Silver Swan dancers from Germany, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and all over England attending and also performing on the day.
After lunch programme of flute & harp music, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, December 2023
A heartfelt thanks to you both for coming to see us all yesterday at the NHS retirement fellowship Christmas lunch. We felt that each and everyone of our 78 members who were present experienced a wonderful instrumental treat. Your varied program managed to get feet tapping and hands clapping leaving us all very much in the Christmas spirit.

Music in the church at Walsham le Willows Open Gardens weekend, August 2023
Angels Delight contributed greatly to the success of the 41st annual Walsham le Willows Open Gardens event over the 2023 August Bank Holiday and local people and visitors alike were charmed by their ‘Music for the Summer’ and by their ‘Folk Songs of the British Isles’ sets on both days. They added to the ambience that was created inside our lovely St Mary’s Church which was host to the Art Exhibition and Floral Display that forms a major part of the event as a whole. About 2000 people visited Walsham over the two days and enjoyed 35 gardens and public spaces, remarkable lunches and teas in two locations in the village, a Pizza and BBQ experience, a Village Market, Brass Bands, a bar and much more. They all left expressing huge admiration for the way the event is organised and presented and confirming that it is not just ‘Gardens’ that they had enjoyed. We are sure that many of them will be back next year for more and we would sincerely hope that Angels Delight would honour us with a return performance as well AND we hope Adriene will bring some more of her artwork to enhance the exhibition and sale.

Music in the church at Walsham le Willows Open Gardens weekend, August 2023
For many years St Mary’s Church in Walsham Le Willows has played host to the art exhibition and flower displays that have become an integral part of the Open Gardens event, held over the August Bank Holiday. This year, we were treated to the additional pleasures of a Flute and Celtic Harp duo that floated effortlessly and clearly around the church. Set in as background to the displays on show, it rapidly became an impromptu concert. The beautiful and sometimes haunting melodies of some of our best-known 20th Century classics, traditional and folk tunes was a pure delight and had people coming back for more over the 4 performances. It was a real treat to sit and immerse ourselves in these wonderful tunes, in a building designed to send music spiralling up to the heavens, and surrounded by the evocative and energising results of artistic labours. Summertime (remember Ella?), The Rose, Down by The Salley Gardens, Blow the Wind Southerly, Greensleeves, The Star of The County Down and more. The aptly named Angels Delight: Adriene Ellis and Anne Chorley will have made special memories for those lucky enough to have found them.
